It’s been four months since my last blog entry. I had to put my dog down in May and just have not had any desire to write due to mental and emotional exhaustion. While I have been living my life, I only now feel like I owe it to myself and to you, my supporters, to start writing again in every capacity. So let me tell you about this fabulous little byob thai place in Hoboken called Sri Thai.
On June 5, my male bestie and I made our way back in NYC to see an auditory show/event called Blindness. It was our first time back since Covid as well as our first show/event since Covid. After Blindness ended, we took the path back to Hoboken and decided to grab lunch at Sri Thai. Sri Thai is a small cozy spot on Bloomfield Street in Hoboken. We started with the Sri Thai assorted appetizer which had a combination of two piece koong gra borg, two piece paw pia, one piece ga-ree puff and two piece steamed dumpling. The dumplings were my favorite. I LOVE the garlic on the inside!
For lunch, my friend ordered the whole red snapper with basil sauce topped with colorful mixed vegetables. The sauce had a little kick but there was also some ginger flavors coming through.
The vegetables were crisp and the sauce had a little kick. The snapper was flakey and fresh. He enjoyed it. I liked his lunch but I liked mine better.
I ordered the Kai Raum-Mit which is simply sautéed sliced chicken and mixed vegetables.
The picture shows the colors of the dish and that it was well proportioned. It was absolutely delicious, fresh, and light. Not to mention healthy.
It was a quick but yummy lunch but the food is worth another trip to this restaurant.
